Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Enough Cooks LLC (“we” or “us”) collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It covers our website at enoughcooks.com, our iPhone and Android apps, and our emails. Our address is 4030 Wake Forest Road, STE 349, Raleigh, NC 27609.

• Your account. Your email address, which is how you sign in. A name, if you add one. We don't use passwords.
• Recipes. The text, photos, PDFs and links you bring in. That includes recipes you share from another app or email to recipes@enoughcooks.com.
• What you make. Cook Plans, your recipe library, ratings, your meal plan, your grocery list, step pictures, and timers and progress while you cook.
• Your kitchen. How many people you cook for, your equipment, diet choices like vegetarian or gluten-free, foods you dislike, and when you usually eat.
• Other people's names. Names you give the people cooking with you. And the email address of anyone you invite to your household.
• Taste notes. We keep short notes on what you like and don't. A note is made when you swap a suggested dinner and say what missed, when you rate a dish, when you cook a Cook Plan most of the way through, and when you put a dish back on your meal plan. Our AI also writes a short summary from those notes. Today the app doesn't use them to make suggestions, and it doesn't show them to you. To have yours deleted, email hello@enoughcooks.com.
• Messages. Emails you send us, and any feedback.

• How you use the app. We record events like “made a Cook Plan” and pages opened. They're tied to your account ID, not your email or name.
• Crashes. When something breaks, we record the error so we can fix it. Email addresses and phone numbers are taken out first.
• Device and log details. Your IP address, browser, device type, and when you visited. Our servers and providers keep these in standard logs.
• Cookies. See section 7.

• Our payment provider tells us if your payment went through and if your subscription is active.
• When you import a link, we get the recipe, caption, author name and cover picture from the site or post it came from. That might be a recipe site, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube.
• A household owner can add you to their household after you accept their invite.

• The share button gives the app the link you shared. Nothing is imported until you tap the button.
• The app reads your clipboard only when you tap Paste.
• Cooking timers set alerts on your phone. You can turn notifications off in your phone's settings.
• The app can keep your screen awake while you cook.
• The apps don't collect your location, your contacts, or your phone's advertising ID.

• To run the service: read your recipes, make Cook Plans, and keep your library, meal plan and grocery list.
• To send sign-in codes, receipts, replies, and notices about your account or price changes.
• To send one short check-in from us if you stop using the app for about a week. It goes once, and it has a link to unsubscribe.
• To set limits and stop abuse, like the free allowance and rate limits.
• To understand how the app is used, so we can fix and improve it.
• To handle billing, and to follow the law.

We don't use your recipes to train AI models.

Signing in sets cookies that keep you signed in. The app doesn't work without them.

Our app-usage tracking runs through our own web address, not a third-party one. It doesn't record every click, only named events.

Some of our website's marketing pages load a script from our affiliate partner. It counts visits and taps on store links, and uses a cookie so a store can credit us if you buy something there.

On our website and in our Android app, we use the Meta pixel to measure our ads. It sets a cookie and tells Meta which pages are opened. It doesn't run in our iPhone app. When you sign up, we send Meta a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email, so Meta can tell whether an ad led to a sign-up. Meta handles this under its own privacy policy. You can limit it in your browser settings or in Meta's ad settings.

We don't respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.

To read and rewrite a recipe, we send it to our main AI provider. That includes the text, photos, PDFs and captions. We also send what the AI needs to fit the plan to you: your kitchen details, your crew's names, and your diet choices.

To draw a step picture, we send a second AI provider a short description of that step. We send nothing about you.

Under their business terms, our AI providers don't use what we send to train their AI models.

We don't sell your information. We share it only in these cases.

People you choose. Anyone you send a shared link to can see that recipe or plan after signing in. People in your household see and edit the shared meal plan and grocery list.

Companies that help us run the service. Each one gets only what it needs. Each works under its own privacy policy. These are the jobs they do:

• Sign-in. Holds your email, your name if you add one, and your sign-in history.
• Database. Holds your recipes, plans, meal plan, grocery list, kitchen details, taste notes and household.
• Hosting. Runs the website and keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses.
• Short-lived storage. Holds working data, like background-job status, plus the counters behind limits.
• AI. Reads recipes and writes Cook Plans, and draws step pictures from a short step description (see section 8).
• Payments. Holds your card. We never see your full card number.
• App-usage tracking. Records how the app is used, and crash reports, tied to your account ID only.
• Email. Sends our emails, receives recipes you email in, and runs our inboxes. Emails to recipes@enoughcooks.com and hello@enoughcooks.com pass through it.
• Bot check. Runs the quick “are you a robot?” check when you sign in.
• Recipe readers. Fetch a recipe page or an Instagram post you import, when we can't read it ourselves. They get the link, nothing about you.
• Store links. Our affiliate partner counts visits and taps on store links on some of our marketing pages.
• Ad measurement. Meta measures our ads, as section 7 describes.

The law and safety. We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect people or the service.

If the business changes hands. Your information would go to the new owner, under this policy.

We keep your information while you have an account.

When you delete your account, we delete your sign-in record and what's attached to it. That means your recipes, Cook Plans, meal plan, grocery list, kitchen details, taste notes and parties. Links you shared stop working.

A few things stay, on purpose:

• Billing records, for taxes and accounting.
• A small marker that the account existed, with your email and name removed.
• Usage counts behind the free allowance and limits. They hold only numbers. They stay so that deleting an account can't reset the free allowance.
• Household lists. What's on a shared household meal plan or grocery list stays with the household.
• Your seat on someone else's Cook Plan. It's unlinked from you, not deleted.
• Backups of our database, for about a week. Our providers' logs follow their own schedules.

• See and change most of your information in the app.
• Delete your account in the app: Settings, then Manage account, then delete. Or email hello@enoughcooks.com from the address on your account, and we'll do it for you. This also works if you can't sign in.
• Get a copy of your information, or ask us to fix or delete something. Email us. We may ask you to confirm by replying from your account's email.
• If we say no, reply and ask us to look again.

We offer these rights to everyone in the US, whatever state you live in. We won't treat you differently for using them.

In the past 12 months we've collected: identifiers (email, account ID, IP address); commercial information (your subscription); internet activity (how you use the app); and content you give us (recipes and what you make). We also collected likes and dislikes from your taste notes. The sources and reasons are in sections 2 to 6. Section 9 lists who gets it.

We don't sell personal information. Some state laws say that letting Meta measure our ads counts as “sharing.” To opt out, email us or block the pixel as section 7 explains. We don't share personal information with other companies for their own marketing.

Enough Cooks is for people 13 and older. It isn't made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child under 13 has an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Everything between you and us is encrypted. There are no passwords to steal: you sign in with a code sent to your email. Our payment provider holds card details, not us. Only the people who run Enough Cooks can see account data, and only to run the service. No system is perfect. If a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

We serve the United States only. Most of our providers are in the US. The two recipe readers are based in Europe. They get only the links described above, never your account details.

We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change is important, we'll also email you or tell you in the app.
